Luke grew up inspired by his actor parents’ love of storytelling and the playful environment it requires. Luke has spent six years as a nursery school teacher. He has been directing short films for the past eight years, and has been lucky enough to receive funding from the UK Film Council, Film London and IdeasTap.

His films have screened at many festivals internationally including Rushes Soho Short film festival where he was nominated for Best Newcomer, and Cinerail Festival Paris where his first film THE PROGRESSION OF LOVE won the audience award. His next film I SPY premiered at the 56th London Film Festival as part of London Calling, “A selection of recent shorts from some of the capital’s most exciting new filmmakers”, and was selected to be screened before Roman Polanski’s Rosemary’s Baby for Danny Boyle’s Shuffle Festival.

His latest short film YOU HAVE TWO FEET, which explores play and absurdity as a means of escape, was nominated for Best Comedy Short at the 2016 London Short Film Festival. With his writing partner Simon Lord, he was selected for Edinburgh International Film Festival’s Talent Lab programme in 2016, followed by the Network programme, being mentored by Peter Ettedgui.
